Over 100 Attend Quilt Show

Over one hundred people viewed the seventy-seven quilts that were on display in three cottages and the Dirigo Pines Inn on Saturday, May 16.  "This exceeded all expectation," said Dirigo Pines Marketing Director Steve Bowler.  "The quilts and the stories that went with the quilts were fascinating.  We had people who have attended other quilt shows say to us that this was the best show they ever attended because of the way we had the quilts displayed and the booklet that attendees picked up with details about the quilt."

Antique Appraisal Show - Big Hit

On Saturday, April 25, the Rosscare Foundation and Dirigo Pines hosted the sixth annual Antique Appraisal Show to benefit EMHS LiveSAFE at Dirigo Pines Inn in Orono.

The antique appraisal show featured Bruce A. Buxton, a licensed qualified appraiser, known for his entertaining and lively style. In four hours, Bruce appraised more than 100 antiques, raising $1,740.
“We want to thank all those in our community that came out in support of this event,” commented Jennifer Maskala, operations manager at Rosscare. “All proceeds benefit subscribers of EMHS LiveSAFE who need a personal emergency response service but are unable to afford the full monthly fee of the service.”

BSO Youth Orchestra

Dirigo Pines residents were recently treated to special entertainment by members of the Bangor Symphony Youth Orchestra.  The group included, left to right, violinist Abigail Swzel, co-concert mistress Lynn Brubaker, cellist Lily Dudley Holland, and violist Kate Brenner Simpson.

Can-can Comes to Dirigo

Variety Show Coordinator Jayne Bartley had a good selection of music, storytelling, jokes and a dancing finale. If you look really hard at the photograph you might see that two of the dancers might not “look” like the rest of the “girls”.  Most of the audience had tears in their eyes from laughing so hard.  A great time was had by all.
